FEES FOR ASSESSMENT AND THERAPY

Understanding Coverage and Fees

Although speech therapy is not covered by OHIP, many private health insurance plans provide annual allotments to cover Speech and Language services. Some parents will have benefits through their work that will cover the cost of assessment and therapy.

At the time of assessment and/or treatment, you will be provided with a receipt that can be submitted to your insurance in order to claim the fees you have paid. This will include my college registration number (i.e. license number with CASLPO).

Please note – it is important for each family to inquire about the extent of their coverage. Benefit plans usually cover up to a set maximum per year.

ASSESSMENT RATE

INITIAL ASSESSMENT

For an initial 1 hour and 15 minute assessment, the rate is $225.
(no hidden fees)

This fee includes: in-home service, travel time, mileage and a report with a summary of the assessment findings as well as various recommendations depending on the child’s needs.

TREATMENT/THERAPY RATE

TREATMENT SESSIONS

For a 1 hour in-person therapy session, the rate is $215. (no hidden fees)

Typically the sessions are made up of 45 minutes of ‘face time’, with the remaining 15 minutes left for wrap up, review, homework and any possible questions parents may have.

This fee includes: travel time and mileage, on-going contact with parents and/or caregivers, and any follow-up reports.

(Clients are billed directly on a per session basis and payment is due after each session. E-Transfer, Cash and Cheques are accepted)

All of the above fees are in abidance with the Recommended Fee Schedule for Ontario Private practitioners put out by the SAC January 2024.
